GlobalStar GSP-1600 Lithium Ion Battery (GPB-2003)

Globalstar is pleased to announce the introduction of the GPB-2003 lithium ion battery for the GSP-1600 handset. This new and improved 1500 mAh battery replaces the older GPB-1650. It uses well proven lithium ion technology and weighs only 102 grams or 3.6 oz. (See comparison chart below.). It is also compatible with all the standard Globalstar GSP-1600 accessories and battery chargers.

NOTE – The new GPB-2003 uses lithium ion cells. With this technology it is no longer necessary for the user to intermittently charge the battery during extended periods of inactivity. (i.e. 3 months or more) In order to maximize battery life, in situations where the phone is not going to be used for a period of approximately 3-6 months, partially discharge the battery, to approx. 2/3 full charge, and store at room temperature. No further charging care is needed.
