We have several satellite options which can be used for RVs. The first option is an Inmarsat Isavi, a portable WiFi terminal which has global coverage and offers 99.9% reliability. The terminal costs about C$1600, but the data is fairly expensive at US$4.99 per megabyte.
The second option includes a DataSat 840 roof-mounted, self-pointing antenna system. The system is about $9000, but you can get a year of service and 100 gigabytes of data at US$10 / gigabyte. This is a much better value, but the upfront investment is significant.
